After the french reolution
After the French Revolution ended and King Louis the XIV was executed, Napoleon was named The first consul of France, and later the Emperor of France. During Napoleons rule, he was able to end the post-revolution chaos and turn Paris into a city of Parks and Boulevards. Napoleon also founded the French banking system and created a modern legal code that is still in use today. He also gave guarantee of religious freedom and seizing Church Property, though he was publicly condemned by Pope Pius the IV for doing so.
